March 17: Boby Duval of L'Athletique d'Haiti is featured on this week's HBO Sports discussing the challenges his organization now faces post earthquake. Click HERE to view show
From HBO Sports:

Haiti Relief Fund has partnered with L'Athletique d'Haiti and is committed to helping Boby Duval and L'Athletique d'Haiti proceed with their mission and new challenges they face.
Carlo Thertus states: "Boby is a true humanitarian given by birth, like a born artist. I say this because when I was a teenager in Haiti during the 70's working for Duval Industries, Boby and I worked together for a long time. I observerd his compassion and care for others, and the people loved him. Later, in 1980 I had to leave Haiti, life went on and in 1997 I was informed about L' Athletique d'Haiti and the work it was doing in the slums of Haiti. I was not suprised and I am glad he established L'Athletque d'Haiti and Haiti Relief Fund Inc. will support them to the extent of it capabilities. To begin or collaboration Haiti Relief Fund sent our third 40' container of relief goods on February 27th to support the over 2000 individuals and families currently living on L'Athletic d'Haiti's facility. Thank You for giving me this opportunity to help my fellow Haitians. "

'Lebanese Nights' at the popular restaurant LaPita, 22681 Newman Street, has been the talk of Dearborn for months, and now patrons have a chance to "Party for a Purpose" on Saturday, January 30, at 10:30 p.m.
All cover charge proceeds from the event will be donated to Haiti Relief Fund for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.
The cover charge for the event will be $10 and additional donations are also encouraged.
'Lebanese Nights' started as a venture to provide a local Lebanese-style club atmosphere, and has evolved into an opportunity to help those in need.
The founders, Dr. Chadi Haddad, Dr. Fadi Khoury and Jad Soudah, M.B.A, are committed to their vision and to the community, consistently supporting non-profit organizations, students, and the community as a whole.
Now the focus has shifted to Haiti where an estimated 1.5 million people have been left homeless and relief is still desperately needed.
"It is because we are more fortunate than others that we have decided — not only at this time, but always — to support those who need our help most," Haddad said about the Haiti benefit.
For more information on Lebanese Nights, call 313.686.8000.
Update: Lebanese Nights has a huge success!
$1500 was raised for Haiti Relief. Thank You! |
